Post Jam Update #1!


It's been a little while since I had made the time to get back into game jams. Work has kept me pretty busy and I'm spending a lot of time on the road. Considering that, I had the initial weekend of the Dungeon Crawler Jam 2022 to get a bulk of the game done. Finishing the Jam submission on the road meant that I couldn't focus as much as I'd have liked to, which caused the scope to get pretty limited. Bugs introduced on the road were frustrating, as the tablet I was attempting to program on was pretty limited. This slowed development pretty harshly.

Still, I was able to meet the requirements of the Jam and submitted on time! One weekend with the correct development environment has polished the game up quite a bit. I'll be releasing a post-jam build of the game that takes in a ton of feedback that I received from jammers and reviewers after the rating period is over. (don't want the post-jam getting confused with the jam submission).

I've uploaded a small gif of the combat improvements where everything is working pretty much as intended. I've still got a ways to go with this project, but this is by far the most complete and fun project I've worked on. I've been doing Jams for a few years now and I keep learning something new every time. Since this is only a hobby, my progress might not be as fast as some others... but this was all done in my free time!
